Huck is influenced by Tom Sawyer because he always goes back and thinks what would Tom Sawyer do? Huck Finn thinks that Tom Sawyer is one of the smartest people he knows. If Tom was to tell Huck not to do something or to do it then Huck would listen. Something that Huck says that shows that he is influenced by Tom sawyer is when he said “Tom Sawyer wouldn’t back out now, and so I won’t either.”(ch.12, pg.51, par.3) Tom Has had a positive effect on Huck because he has helped Huck gain confidence to do things that other people might be scared to do.

Widow Douglas has influenced Huck Finn is that she taught him to believe that there is some good in life and that it is a good thing to go back and pray. She has also influenced him because she helps him read so that he doesn’t go around doing dumb things. A bad thing she does to influence him is try to take custody of him for his money because it may show him tat he is not loved and that the only reason that she is taking care of him is for his money.
