HUCK FINN reader response#3(ch.14-ch.18)

Paragraph 1:

Huck was impressed by the Grangerford’s house because he never saw a house or a family in the country that looked nice. I got this idea from the book; it says “It was a mighty nice family, and a mighty nice house, too.”(ch17, pg75, par.3) It may show Huck that no matter were you come from you can still make it no matter how much money you were born with, if you keep trying you can make it, even in the country.

Paragraph 2:

The books in the house are so special because they don’t only have regular books that you just sit down and read, they have bibles and books with gospel lyrics. When Huck says “there was some books too, piled up perfectly, on each corner of the table” (ch.17, pg.76, par.2). I believe that Huck is interested because he make have not seen so many books in his life time. I think that it says that Huck is a very wise boy but he really does not know how to use it when he is around his friends. I think that Twain’s view of education is that he believes that everyone is smart in their own way. I think that Twain is very intelligent and he knows how to express himself.

Paragraph 3:

The thing special about the drawings is that they all had to do with her or someone else that was sick mentally or physically. Her drawings showed the struggles that not only her but other people had to go through. “These was all nice pictures, I reckon, but I didn’t somehow seem to take to them, because if ever I was down a little, always give me the fan-tods.”(ch.17, pg. 77, par.1) This statement shows that she can draw but her drawings are disturbing. This girl really seems to be obsessed with death. The point of the girl with the arms was to show that she was reaching out for someone. I think that he describes this because it is what catches his eye and it shows so much of how the girl thinks. I think that her death is horrible and that she has a wide view of how everyone else is.Huck is so fascinated by this girls art because he stares and put his self in her situation.
